Team Hoyt: Father-Son Triathlon Team an Inspiration to All

The story of the Father and Son Hoyt.

This movie makes me bawl:

You can also watch a news clip about their story.

Visit their website.

Or watch another inspirational video about them.

A Brief overview: Basically this is a Father-Son team that compete in triathlons, full Iron-man Triathlons, not rinky dinky ones, together. You’ll understand together when you see the video
There are many inspirational videos out there, but often times I find inspirational videos a bit cheesy. This one always touches me. I think the song My Redeemer goes so well with it because that song really speaks to the heart of love that is shared. My Redeemer is a great song, and this is a great and inspirational video.

Killing Us Softly: A look at Sexist Media (a MUST watch)

Note: This is a 35 minute video about the media’s portrayal of women. It’s a very important and interesting film that you should take the time to watch. I don’t think it needs much further commenting, only that I would strongly recommend that you watch it.
Note: Keep in mind that this is about the dehumanizing and objectifying way the media portrays women, so it shows plenty of examples of that, proceed with caution.

Update: Media Education Foundation is now on youtube
I still found the full video on Google Videos.

A principal, a rapper and Bill O’Rielly

I am not uncritical of rap music, but I am also cautious to judge a culture I am not a part of and have not sought to understand.

As someone who has worked in the education system and with youth who are a part of this hip-hop culture, I have a deep interest in it’s affect on our generation.

I found this video intriguing because I feel there where valid points made by each of the people speaking. I feel bad that the conversation happened on a show like this because it seems to only ‘showcase’ a tension and disagreement for an audience that is mainly (from what I know) made up of people who have no true understanding of the culture of either the rappers, nor the principal.

I’m curious of your thoughts on this video.

Sometimes I get bored biking to work

When I get bored I try and find more creative ways to ride my bike. You know instead of the traditional way of riding. I was going to video tape it for you and put it on here, but since I don’t have a camera, and there is no one to ride along and tape me I’ve decided to just put a video up of someone doing the exact same thing. (Well, she’s only a beginner though, so it’s not exactly how I ride)
