A seven minute documentary about Human Trafficking in the Philippines, if you’ve never heard about or seen the reality that faces many in our world, please take a few minutes to view this.
Clothes – a short PSA (1:00)
(I prefer the term Majority world to third world or developing world, but here’s a direct translation of the commercial tagline)
“Let your second hand cloths help the third world.”
“Laat je 2e handskleding de 3e wereld helpen.”
So I found the Humana website, but is this something that is not in the US? I'm generally buying second-hand clothing rather than donating it, but if this is a solid clothing donation option, I'd still like to know how to give to them.
Phil, I have no clue on the Humana website, just saw the video and enjoyed it.I'm with you on the second hand stuff, and wearing your clothes tillthey aren't useful for much besides dish rags.

donating clothing overseas is a poor idea. donate money to groups that buy clothing overseas instead. by donating clothing you are hurting local merchants.
John, I've heard this sentiment before, and I think I agree with yourbasic summary. I've also heard that there are a lot of situationswhere there isn't a local economy/merchant to meet the need, etc. Inother words, I've heard a few things that make sense on both sides.Do you mind giving me more details on your opinion and why you thinkit's not a good idea? I'm all ears. Leave a comment, or if you have along detailed argument, I'd even post it as a guest blog post.Peace.
