I’m not web 2.0 guru

But I have been paying attention a little bit. I guess it’s my fascination with technology, or the possibilities of the web. I wish I could get paid to do some of the cool stuff I’d like to do, but I don’t know how to do it, and that’s probably why no one will pay me for it…

Anyways, a friend was wondering about Web 2.0 and since I’ve been reading a little and surfing a lot in relation to it I thought I’d sort of post a little something something about it.

No big details here, you’ll have to stay tuned to other individual post to find out more. The whole folksonomy thing, which I did talk about earlier is fascinating. Read my earlier post to get a taste of what I’ll get into:

  1. That’s such a buzzword at the moment, and I’m feeling like it’s about to crest any day now. With Flickr, del.icio.us, Google, Yahoo and even Microsoft getting in on the action and making some really interesting changes to the way the web works, it seems like it might all be going somewhere. I just don’t know where or how fast. I mean, I’ve been keeping tabs on it all from a distance, but I’m not sure it’s really any different than what’s been going on for the last few years.

Other than the recent wave of acquisitions, it all seems to be everyone getting excited about the technology again. AJAX? Nothing new really…that’s stuff’s been around for years, but someone figured out how to use it in a new way and it’s got everyone in a frenzy.

This is all good, I think, but it’s becoming a little too much hype, and I’m wondering if that could lead to another dot-com bubble (and eventual -POP!-).
