Free Phone Calls from your Computer to a landline

I’m updating this post because Skype (which this used to be about) is no longer free to make outgoing calls (except 800 numbers). The paid version of Skype is actually really well priced, but if you need a free option, follow the instructions below.

  1. Download and install Gizmo Project
  2. Join Grandcentral (It’s in Private beta right now)
  3. Add your Gizmo SIP number to Grandcentral
  4. Add Contact number your trying to call
  5. Use the call button on your contact list to call your Gizmo project and connect the call for FREE!

P.S. If you comment below, I’ll send you a private invitation to join Grandcentral.

  1. I just downloaded the Gizmo Client. I’d like you to send me an invite so that I may get started with a phone number from grandcentral. Hey, I’d also like to thank you for your invite as you do not have to do that. I really appreciate it.

  2. eljaa,

I was about to send you an invite, but they apparently took down that option on the site, I can’t find it anywhere. Your best bet is to go to grandcentral.com and reserve a number for yourself. I’ll definitely send you an invite if it shows up again.

    Sorry!

  3. I have heard a lot about making free phone calls from a computer to a cell phone or a landline but every site I go to that says free is not free. They just want you to download their program and then they charge you.
Your program sounds really good and I am anxious to try it;.
