I find this video fascinating. Kiri Davis is a high school student who put together a fascinating video and revisited a famous experiment that was used to support the desegregation of schools in Brown vs. Board of Education.
The video is sad and telling of how little we’ve come in helping raise our children without inherent notions of racism. At the same time I find it wonderful that a high school student like Kiri has taken the initiative to learn and speak out about this. Her film was featured in the Media that Matters Film Festival.
thanks for sharing this – it is an incredible shame that the beauty of this culture is not given the same esteem as others, the respect, acceptance and ability to stand equal amongst all other races that fill our planet – and worse that even those within the race/culture fail to see and acknowledge their own worth and contribution to the inner and outer beauty of mankind.
I wish more was shared about what these young girls and boys might have said about not knowing from where thier roots are and the impact that has on their sense of belonging.
we must all take this to heart and find ways to make our fellow human beings see their individual and group value and worth – and gain the personal benefit that comes from reaching out in love and acceptance of others
